Question #1:
I've always wanted to have more than one little animal, but my mom would never allow it. Now I'm on my own, and my dog is, for the most part, mellow.
In addition to thinking about adopting a second dog to keep mine company, I've considered getting a cat. No, not right now, but in the future. I know that if I got a second dog, my dog Tiny would have to meet it in a neutral location; if they get along, then great and if not, then I know that wouldn't be the right dog for us.
However, I'm not so sure about cats, even though I love them. I'm aware of the different breeds, and I keep in mind my lifestyle and where I live.
I've limited my choice to either a Savannah cat, or a Singapura cat. I like the look of both breeds, I like that they don't require excessive grooming time, and I like that they seem more mellow. As well as not as noisy.
But would either make a good first time cat for a person who lives in a loft apartment with a Chihuahua?
@ Hugheser: Oh. O_O Well, I don't want my dog eaten.
What cat would be a better choice, then? I don't want one that makes a lot of noise, I don't want one that would try to fight my dog, and I don't want one that I'd have to spend so much time grooming.
Question #2:
Please explain your cat species, by
size, hair, grooming, height, etc

Thank you
Yes I ment breed I am just really tired.

havana brown to chantilly
nebelung to blue, gray, white or black ojos azules
white ojos azules to toyger

Question #4:
I have a 3 day vacation in Singapore and I didn't see a single Singapora.
Question #5:
We recently lost our siamese of 14 years to liver cancer. After some mourning, we have almost decided to take another kitten into our lives. The cat we have been looking at is the singapura. I have been looking at breeders and haven't found anything near us. Are there any singapura breeders in Illinois?
It doesn't look like we are getting a singapura considering the price and how rare they are. We are probably going to get a pet from a shelter. Singapuras are adorable though :)
Question #6:
I already know that one of my cats in a singapura.
What breed is my other cat?
I dont have pictures of behavior but:
He meows a lot.
He's very loveable.
Is always around his one master.
And is very demanding for attention and food.
ANd he's very long.
3 feet long when hes stretched out and weighs about 20 pounds but is all muscle.
Yes, I'm sure my cat is a Singapura.
We got it from a breeder; I'm not interested in that,T hanks.
Question #7:
Question #8:
If you have one or know someone who has one, how much do they typically cost?
Question #9:
These cats are so fascinating to me, and i have been promised by family i could get a "reasonably priced" cat/kitten.
Question #10:
breed of cat
Question #11:
It is contagious and I have another older cat that tested negative. I feel that I have to make a tough decision and have the kitten put down. It is a purebred Singapura and I've been trying to contact the breeder but she is ducking me right now, although I am sure she got my e-mail notifying her of the situation. If the breeder wasnt aware of the FeLV than I'm sure she's taking this hard as it is highly contagious and who knows how many of her cats have this deadly virus.
I think I am going to have the kitten tested one more time and if it comes back positive again I'll euthenize him.
Thoughts?
Thanks for the response. We seem to be on the same page. On one hand I don't want to pursue a refund, but on the other hand I feel that the breeder should help out in some way.
The main thing is that this is so hard for me, the little guy has stayed by my side constantly for the short time I've had him. He is always sitting on my lap, and I taught him to play fetch with little rolled up paper balls. When I put on my shoes I always find a little paper ball in there from him. He was the sweetest kitten and would melt the coldest heart. Everyone pay extra attention to your feline over the holidays and show appreciation for your loved ones! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
Cat Lover thanks for your response. I will take your advice on the IFA. I cannot risk the older cat getting ill though, I don't think it's fair to him. I will explore your suggestion however as I would of course like to avoid euthanisation.
I live in a small 1 bedroom condo btw
I asked the doctor about a shelter for the kitten but she claimed that no one would take him in. I will explore this more. He deserves the best and he has a lot of love to give. It wouldn't be right to just put him down.
I'm really glad I asked this question here.
just an update: I found a shelter that is a little over an hour away. I was told that it's expensive, but I'm willing to shell out some cash so that the kitten can live, plus I would love to visit him.
Question #12:
I live in Florida, and I really want a specific breed of cat because it seems to fit my life. I would love to adopt the breed from a shelter, but they do not have any of that breed. I was wondering if there was a breeder of the cat far away from Florida and If I was interested in buying one of their cats, how would I be able to buy it since its so far away? Would they ship the cat or something?
Mainly, I am just curious to know how would I recieve the cat if I would like to buy it.
Also, The breed of cat that I want is a Singapura.
Okay I already know A LOT about Singapura cats. When I say that I KNOW it fits my life style, I am Not lying, nor an idiot. Therefore it does fit my lifestyle because I have studied them, and I don't Just like them for the way they look.
Question #13:
they're so tiny and adorable i really want to get one :)
Question #14:
I was thinking about getting a cat and a few breeds caught my eye: Abyssinian, Scottish Fold and Singapura. Any info about any breed would be great except from Wikipedia! Anything from medical conditions to diet to characteristics are appreciated! Also, I was thinking of getting only one cat as we already have a dog, two cats and two guinea pigs, so what breed would be good with those? Any advice about owning those cats would be helpful (the other cats live outdoors and are basically street cats and I'm interested in an indoor cat that would be ok with being outdoors for a little bit)
No, I love all my pets no matter what age they are! But I have decided that I would like to have another one!

The pet food recall scared us into making our own cat food at home. We did alot of research into cat nutrition requirements and went through alot of trial and error trying out new recipes for the cats - seeing what they liked and what they didn't. We ended up with quite a few super yummy recipes. Our friends begged us to share the recipes with them and we realized there were probably lots of other cat owners out there that would love to try these cat food recipes out on their cat too! So, 123 CatFood.com came into being. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.
