Question #1:

My Siberian Husky refuses to eat?

Ok, so my husky used to love meal time he would clean out his bowl in less than 10 min and lick it clean. Recently, he started refusing his dry food, so we started mixing in small amounts of wet dog food, cheese, egg, yogurt ect . . . as an appetite teaser. It worked for a while but then he started refusing to eat anything at all for days at a time.
I took him to the vet, where he was checked for worms, infection, and an obstruction. He did not have any, but the vet had him complete a course of antibiotics just in case. (His teeth are also very healthy) He is still refusing to eat his food, but i know that he is hungry because he tries to steal the cats food all the time.
I thought he may not like his food, so I've been buying small bags of different food to try to get him to eat, but this is getting really expensive and I now have a lot of dog food and nothing to do with it. I've waited him out for about 3 days now giving him no treats and just putting the dish down twice a day for 25 min at a time but he won't eat (he's a very stubborn dog). He is still drinking water but I'm really concerned. Any advice would be very helpful.
He's been on Blue Buffalo, but I've tired Natural balance (which is also a very good food) but he just won't eat it.
He is 3 years old, and he has lost some weight, which is why we took him to the vet, after he was done with the antibiotics he started eating, but less than a week later he started refusing food again he sometimes eats part of his dinner, but never his breakfast, and it is not nearly enough food to sustain a 55 lb dog
oh and he is very alert, he's acting normal, still wants to go on his walks and to the dog park, still follows me everywhere, just won't eat his food

Question #2:

i have cats, and kittens, what will happen if i buy a siberian husky puppy?

i have 2 cats, and a kitten and i'm considering buying a siberian husky puppy.. is this dangerous?

Question #3:

Is it a good idea to continue Heartworm preventative when positive test occurs?

The dog was negative test in spring? she has been on Heart worm preventative for months. She just now tests positive? If we continue the heart pills what will happen? It will kill baby worms that wish to grow to adult size and infect my dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
or will it make super bugs that are not so easy to kill with Heart worm preventative any more?????
I'm so curious! Please help
!
My dog is 11 yr s old, but seems very very healthy!!!!!!!!!!! I hope she can live through the poison heartworm treatments!!!!!!!1 Not sure. I can buy TWO siberian Husky puppies for the cost of one treatment. : (
but you know, we all love our dogs! She's a great temprament with the cat and kids. (unbelieveable with the high prey drive.... Common in huskies...)

She was my $75 discount dog, too.... maybe she was inbred or something. She's funny! She has a sense of humor! OK BYE We may have to wait a week or so to get the heart treatments. still thinking and doing tests bout her liver and kidney health. (She's OLD).
sorry. My vet is evil. I seek a new vet. They want me to only buy SPECIFIC brands for flea/tick/mosquito ointments (on the shoulder blades). They said a specific "bad" brand (on my dog) COULD cause my cats to die! * They want me to buy THEIR special cat food. They suggest that even feeding 50% meat to my cat is a bad idea. It's just insane. What did they think a wild cat would eat? My cat has FIV and Urine Crystals (FLUTD? I guess they call it now?). The other vet techs thought 50% meat would be fine. It's all organic, cage free, happy grass fed animal meat, no sodium added, .. but no bones either. So, YES< I realise my cats need calcium and some vitamins, even if he is "sensitive" or "allergic" and seems to create these crystals in urine. I think it is the "ash" content in ordinary cheap dry cat food. ANyway, YES< I cook the meat. I'm sorry to bother you. I will change vets. I do NOT like my vet!!!!! GOod advice. Sorry I mentioned the inbreeding. I talk too much.
* Ps. If even ONE cat died, the vet * COULD* say that.... see?? nasty vet. wants only my money. wants the heartworm to grow to adults,,mate, and create more heartworms, and more expensive treatments. a LIGHT case, as I suspect our case to be extremely light (Negative test in spring).... it seems good advice from all I have read. I will call other vets.

Question #4:

How do you drain a water bed?

They do what they want,
come and go as they please
a leg rub and a purr
are just their way to tease.

She's a beauty , Siberian-Siamese
looking like a hint of Winters chill
with Ice in her veins I suspect
though like the Sun itself waiting to thrill.

Gray blue-eyed longhaired
she found a new game to play
bouncing in a very small boat on a big Ocean
I'll be mopping water for days

I knew I should have clipped the Cats nails
The Cat actually did me a favor kinda. I hated that bed anyway. Plus I have a really clean tile floor now, LOL.
Yowee not me H.D. LOL. I take them to the vet to do. I don't need animals hating me.
Um no I was born at the end of 88. The water bed seemed a cool idea at the time

Question #5:

Getting Stationed in Korea?

Yesterday, we FINALLY got our orders (my husband is in the Army) and much to our surprise, we got Fort Humphreys, South Korea. Without a doubt, the LAST place we would have ever chosen. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find alot of information, and was hoping that someone could answer some of my questions.
First of all, is there any way we can get out of these orders, or at least TRY? I'm pregnant, and due March 3rd, and his report date is May 10th. I don't want to move my infant to Korea, but I don't want my husband to miss the whole first year of our baby's life.
Secondly, I have 2 cats, and 2 big dogs. (one is an Alaskan Malamute, the other is a Siberian Husky) Will I be able to bring them with me, and live on base with them?
Third of all, will my baby be old enough to travel (he/she will be about 2 months old by then)

Oh, and if it makes a difference, my husband is an E-4, and just returned from Iraq last March...

Question #6:

I want to buy a siberian cat. Do you know any pet stores that sell them?

Im very new with pets so i dont really know how to get one. I understand you can find some in the newspaper and online, but Id prefer just buying it from a pet store. I live in Illinois but I dont really know any pet stores around.
I am allergic to cats but I absolutely adore them so I really want a hypo allergenic cat. Although this is not scientifically proven, Siberian cats are known to have a less allergic reaction with people who are allergic to cats

Question #7:

Help with my new sheltie (shetand sheepdog) pup?

My new sheltie puppy seems to be depressed in his new home and with me. I think he misses his siblings because where we got him he lived with them in a barn. He walks around the house all sad with his tail down. One of the few times he seems happy is when he sees a mirror. I think he thinks it's another dog. He barks, scratches and searches for it. What can I do to help with this? I'm debating to get another dog for him to play with. Although he has my cat to play with, who tolerates him. Another thing is he does not seem to like me at all really. He doesn't let me pet him, and when I try to play with him he walks away (usually). And he is much more happy when he is around other family member then with me. Is it because I am the one training him? I feed him, and try to put him out (he is not potty trained yet.) and clean up his accidents. I'm getting very discouraged because I am trying to make him happy with his new home, and me. It just isn't working as well as I'd hoped. What can I do to make him more comfortable in the home and with me? By the way this is my first sheltie, My first dog was a Siberian Husky. She was a great dog who adjusted very well and loved everyone to pieces. After she died I got a new sheltie pup because I don't think I could adjust to a new husky running around. Is training a Husky different then a sheltie? Because none of my methods are working.

Question #8:

Siberian Husky breeder question?

Is this female okay to breed? I am a breeder but I have only been breeding for a while. Okay she is 46 pound and 24-26 inches. Is this good size? She seems a little small and skinny? She is two years old and very friendly. Silver coat and icy blue eyes. No health problems. She is a little bit agressive to smaller animal like rabbits, cats, even some toy dogs. I she okay to breed?
autumn- i have a health certificate she is a picture of health. She is akc registered. Plus to tell you the truth, I have never in my life seen a siberian husky in a pound. Beautiful dogs! I have seen them in shelter but only once and he had ran away and was returned to his owner. Most dogs in pounds are pits and mutts, not pure bred huskies
Huskies are very prey driven and she was not socialized with cats or other small animals as a puppy.

Question #9:

I have a kitten, now - Will the runny nose get worse, better, or stay the same over time?

I'm allergic to cats, normally being around cats makes me wheezy, I get hives, I get itchy, and my nose gets stuffy/runny.

We spent time with a Siberian kitten yesterday for a while, and the only reactions I've had so far are runny nose and my right eye was itchy. (Siberians are supposedly better with allergies.) But I am willing to deal with those symptoms and take medicine for them, because I really want a cat, and these reactions are nowhere near how they usually are.

Will these allergies stay the same, get better over time, or get worse when the cat has been in my house for a longer amount of time?

If it will get better/worse - how long will that take?

Thank you!!
(Basically - Will my body get used to being around a cat, and become tolerant to the allergies? Will it stay the same, or will it get worse the longer she lives in my house?)

Question #10:

Is it bad to do this to a Siberian Husky?

We might be adopting one, but first we need to know some of the facts. We have a VERY large garden, although the fencing is large, it's quite old. I go to school everyday, but there's numerous holidays and weekends. Would the husky destroy the house/garden for all the time he's left on his own? Plus my mum and dad are at work too, we get home roughly the same time. If I walked him BEFORE I go to school for about 30-45 minutes, and then AFTER I get home from school will this be bad? Will he still tear up the house? Plus, we have two adult cats. Even if he is raised with them as a puppy, will he kill them? We would love him so much, walk him 3 times a day on weekends and 2 times on a weekday. We have done our research, but we just need to know from experienced breeders if this is okay. Thanks.

P.S - How much would food cost yearly?

Question #11:

Can cat allergies cause this? Please read. I'm getting exhausted.?

School is starting for me in a few days, so I have been trying to go to bed 30 minutes or so earlier each day to gradually get my body used to going to sleep earlier.

There is a Siberian cat breeder that I contacted, Siberian cats are supposedly BETTER for people with cat allergies (like me)... She offered to send me a washcloth with her Siberian cats' fur on it. I've been rubbing it around my face and on my hands and shirt and stuff to see how I would react to their fur. For a while I was doing great. Not too many symptoms. I would have been willing to get the kitten, because I had never had such low symptoms with cats.

ANYWAY.

I cannot fall asleep! I'm so exhausted.

I fell asleep during the day for half an our hour or so when there was no cat hair on me. But at night I'm having trouble falling asleep at all. (With the fur on my shirt.)

Is lack of sleep or sleeplessness a symptom of Cat allergies, or is this just a coincidence, and my body is just not ready to go to sleep even 30 minutes earlier?

Please help me.
Also... Can stress increase allergic reactions? Because that might be part of the answer right there...

Question #12:

What approx. percentage of people are (or are not) allergic to GoldenDoodles?

I was reading about Siberian Cats and how they are better with allergies than other cats. I read this - "About 75 percent of the people that come out to test have little or no reaction."

So, I was wondering what percentage of people are not allergic to Golden Doodles.

(Please help me find an answer. I've tried online, and it's tough.)
Sorry, Mallory, but did you even fully read my question? I never called it "Hypoallergenic", all I wanted to know was how big of a chunk of people have less allergy symptoms when dealing with a GoldenDoodle, as opposed to a Chihuahua or something.

Question #13:

Help!?! Home made pet food!?!?

With all of the recalls on pet food all the time, I am becoming really sketchy as to if I should touch the stuff or not. I am also scared of making my own pet food because I want to make sure that my pets have all of the nutrition that they need! Can anyone help me here? I want to make home made pet food that I can trust! I have a Siberian Husky, Tuxedo cat, and a Ragdoll kitten. Thanks!

Question #14:

Are Siberian (the breed) cats good for people with asthma?

I heard that siberian cats are good for people with allergies to cats because of the lower allergen levels they have. So I wondering if people with asthma are good with them.

Question #15:

Should I get another puppy/kitten now or a pony later?

This is a hard decision for me to make, as I love animals. I currently own a female 1 year old Pomeranian dog and want to get her a companion because she does so well with other dogs (either a male German Shepherd or Golden Retriever). Having said that, it's been my dream to one day own my own horse/pony to ride. I can't get the pony right now anyways even if I really wanted to. I know that horses cost a lot of money, and I'm also debating on wether or not I should get a kitten. So... puppy or kitten now, or save up for the horse later? Also please say why! Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated!

Also my dog does fine with cats, I want a Siberian kitten if I do get one, so should I get a kitten or a puppy if I decide on another pet right now?
Shoot! Wrong section! Sorry guys!

Question #16:

Switching cat and dog food to blue buffalo, natural balance or wellness with dry and wet food?

I have been feeing my dog Eukanuba and realized it is an overpriced low quality food from IAMS. I am also getting a Siberian Kitten(im allergic to most cats) on saturday and they are feeding him Royal Canin, So I would like to switch both pets to a better quality food. I was considering Blue Buffalo along with some sort of canned food? because I read dogs and cats need more protein, moisture? Wellness is expensive but will I be saving more since it seems like one of the best pet foods out there? and maybe use less canned food. I am confused right now , i dont know how much wet and dry food combination to give and all wet/canned food diet seems too expensive help!

Question #17:

What type of cats are less likely to bother my allergies?

I have mild allergies to cats (red, itchy eyes and a sore throat sometimes too) but I want one badly. I am deciding if I should get a Siberian cat from a reputable breeder or go to the shelter and get an adult or even a kitten there. I am going to visit the shelter when I come back from my vacation in a couple of weeks. Anyways, I have no reaction to my neighbour's shorthair mix except for occasional red eyes. I think it may be because I am becoming desensitized to him because I've been around him for so long. When I go to the shelter to see if I react to certain cats differently, should I consider shorthaired cats over long haired cats? Females over males? Anything that will not affect my allergies as much? Please help, your advice is greatly appreciated.

PS- And no, I am not interested in a hairless cat!

Question #18:

where can i get a siberian kitten?

i have alleriges toward cats/kittens and siberians dont do tht to me..so where is the closest place i can adopt/rescue a siberian???...............plzzzz helpp mee...

Question #19:

What should my cats last name be?

one of russian descent would be fitting. i just found out he's of the Siberian breed and after reading up on it, i learned they originally come from Russia...

so...

His name is Jojo, he was already named when i adopted him from the poundwhen he was 2yrs old. i want his history to be in his last name. until now, his last name was mine (smith) and i dont think he likes that name.

Question #20:
