Question #1:

what cat breed is this?

At first I though it was a Russian Blue, but after closer inspection I'm not sure.
My little sister cried when she saw it, and demanded one.
It also looks like one I saw a child too.
Their is a Disney film called "Aristocats" or something like that. I watched it like 1 million times as a kid, and I gave the tape to her to watch, and she in turn watched it 1 million times, the cat in the picture looks almost exactly like a cat in the movie.

Question #2:

My cat keeps attacking my daughter?

Not playful attacking.. Nasty launching at your head, scratching and biting. She has just been desexed (not sure if this makes a difference), she's a 9 month old champagne blue Russian cross (with god knows what). My daughter is 18 months old.

Is this a behavior that can be changed or does the cat need to go? We only got it for the kids..
Cafe mocha the cat was given to my kids by their grandfather. He had a PURE Russian blue feline who he got from a friend as a kitten and didn't get fixed until recently. Prior to that she was let out and impregnated by some random tom.

Seriously it's not that complicated so you probably shouldn't be so confused ;-)
John did you even read what I wrote before having your say?

She's never been let out. She has been strictly an indoor cat since we got her at 2 months. I've had several cats over my lifetime and never had the problems I'm having with her.

As stated I didn't get the cat for my kids. Their grandfather did, thinking it wouldn't be an issue as I've had cats before. Not since I have had my kids, but prior to it.
I am very careful to teach my children to be gentle but they are children and sometimes they play rough. The question was CAN this behaviour be altered. It required a very simple answer.

Question #3:

russian blue cat chewing her fur off?

my cat is 7 years old. for about 6 of those years she has been chewing off her fur on her belly, front legs and the back of her back legs. she is a russian blue. has 2 companions and is constantly licking her fur off. horrible sound. she is sensitive on those areas. i have taken her to the vet before. they have given her steroid shots, OCD medication and some other things. none of these worked. i have tried feliway which didn't work. and at this point i don't know what to do. she does not have fleas or mites or anything else. and her skin looks fine. no redness, no marks, nothing that would show why she licks her fur off. does anybody have any remedies or ideas as to what it could be? please help me, i don't like seeing her chewing her fur off.

Question #4:

what is wrong with my cat?

my cat is a 10 year old russian blue and he has been acting very wierd. he had diarea on the carpet and is now sitting under my bed meowing and hissing in pain. my parents dont want to bring him to the vet and i cant live without him :( pkease help me find out what is wrong with him!

Question #5:

Serious question: I have a cat that says something that sounds like "Obama" when it wants to be fed?

Can a cat hear us always talking about him and it learned that sound? Or is it just a coincidence. We have a russian blue, which is very smart.

Question #6:

Is it possible that my cat is a Russian Blue?

My one year-old cat that I found as a stray a few months ago resembles a russian blue. The only difference is that he has a small white spot on his neck and his tummy. Since he has those markings does that eliminate the posssiblity that he might be a purebred? What are the odds of finding a stray purebred Russian Blue?

Question #7:

What causes smelly breath in cats?

It a friend cat who was picked up as very sickly stray- who know 6month old. Believed to be Mostly russian blue.

Question #8:

What's up with my cat?

My cat has been an outside cat but sometimes I'd let him in for some pampering and "hanging out."
But I've been not been able to let him in for maybe 3 months and I'd play with him outside so he does remember me, but when I let him in again he had to re-explore my room and he's eating like crazy and drooling, not so much but he's a little wet around the mouth, and I'm wondering if he's becoming feral or has he forgot what it's like on he inside?

I'm kinda afraid he might have an underlying problem,

he's a Russian blue, maybe 1 year old, a little cat, and has drooled once before but that was a more of a happy drool.

any help will be appreciated.

Question #9:

How to discourage kitty behavior?

My 2 1/2 yr old Russian blue is the love of my life... BUT for the last few months he has had this annoying routine of waking me up 2 hours before I have/want to be to either try to eat or just go roam around the house (I rent a room in a friends house.) I've tried feeding him later in the day so he's not hungry, but then he has to go potty in the middle of the night. I don't like keeping a litter box in the room because no matter how often you clean it, it still smells. I've tried leaving him out of the room, but then he bangs on the door and meows all night to be let in. It's like I can't win! I have trouble sleeping as it is and this is really starting to drain me. If I try to ignore him, he jumps on to my pillow and starts biting my hair, or finds something to beat on... He's a very smart and resourceful cat.

Any intelligent suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I like the black out and squirt bottle ideas! Thank you! I'll try those and see how it goes!

Question #10:

what cat breed to I have?

We have a blue cat, with short fur... and it meows ALL the time
I have searched on google many times and i have gone to a website that has all the cat breeds.
And i think it is one of these cat breeds... European short-hair blue, Korat, or maybe a Russian blue.
So i would like to know what kind of breed it is, cause i really like this cat breed.

Question #12:

Why are russian blue cats so aggressive?

I've had my cat since about january,he's SO aggressive and scratches my and my boyfriend when we're just typically trying to play with him. for the past 2 months every time I try to pet his head he just makes this weird head gesture where he thinks I'm going to hurt him,is he this way because he isn't fixed? and if that's the case will he be less aggressive and nicer once he is fixed.

Question #14:

What is a good name for a female Blue Russian cat?

Question #15:

russian blues, really hypoallergenic?

im really wanting to get a cat (male if it matters at all) but my room mate is allergic to their fur. i have read some places that russian blues are supposedly hypoallergenic, but ive also read they are just as irritating. does anyone have some first hand experience with this? also, my room mate's allergy is, i guess, kind of severe because she sneezes constantly and gets watery eyes.

Question #16:

I need help renaming a character...?

I recently finished my first novel and am going through and editing it before sending it out to literary agents. I've been thinking of renaming a character whose name doesn't really suit her. This character is a female cat, and I want her name to be human or at the very least not something like Fluffy. Something like Smoky would be okay, but not Smoky because my friend has a cat named that I don't like naming character after people (or animals) I know.

I've been calling this cat Talia. She starts out as a stray and is a bit wild from her time on the streets. She's supposed to be a Russian Blue, or look like one at the very least. She's untrusting at first and not very friendly, but once she realizes that her new owner (the main character) will not abandon her, she becomes unswervingly loyal and loving in her own way.

Here is her physical description from the book: William appeared at my side, staring with dislike down at the smoke-colored animal. It was a beautiful cat, with a long, slender body accented with lean muscles and clean lines. The fur that covered its body was short and dense, blue gray in coloring, and incredibly lustrous looking. Its face was broad and flat, with widely spaced grass green eyes, and its little nose and lips were a dark smoky gray.

Do any good names come to mind? Thanks so much in advance.

Question #17:

Do you like Russian blue cat?

Question #18:

Why is my cat all of a sudden becoming clingy?

I have a Russian Blue female that is usually pretty aggressive, not in a mean way, but she likes to play and doesn't like to be held. She's about 15 months old. Starting about two weeks ago, she started coming up to me more often and following me around the house, and I'm usually the one that plays rough with her, my mom is usually really lovey dovey with her. Now she's sleeping in my bed every night, when I go to sleep, she'll jump up and come lay by my face and stick her front paws out and like pet my face. She's slept with me before, but it's always been every once in a while and she'd get up and leave after 15 minutes. Now, she sleeps with me through the whole night. When I'm sitting down, she'll come up and sit on my lap or put her front paws on my stomach, lay her head down and her back feet will be standing and she'll purr. If I'm laying down, she'll come lay down on my stomach or my side. What's going on with her? I don't mind the attention, but is she trying to tell me something?! I'm honestly kind of worried she can sense something wrong with me. I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and still have ultrasounds to determine if I have PCOS, etc.

Question #19:

Abyssinian cat as an apartment cat?

I'm thinking about getting a female abyssinian kitten. The problem is, I read that these cats are very active and that they need to go out sometimes. I live in a apartment and I want to have an indoor cat since I'm not that kind of person who will happily let the cat outside (one of my cats got run over by a car when I lived with parents so that's why outdoor cats are big no for me). I'm also going to school, I'm away for 8 hours, is it possible for a abyssinian cat to entertain itself with all the toys? I can't buy two cats because of my economy. If abyssinians are not too good as apartment cats, what cat breed would you suggest me? I am also concidering a Russian Blue since I had one. I'm also thinking about Ocicats
When I lived in flat with my parents when I was young we had 3 cats which were perfectly fine to stay indoor, so as you said it depends on the breed and on cat's personality. It seems also that our cats were actually afraid of going outside because of the road outside of the window, wild cats and a lot of human passing by. The cat which we bought after we moved into the house was really crazy about going out so we let her out but as said the end wasn't that nice. The other thing is we had pretty calm cat breed, russian blue, cornish rex and siames. The one which died was half abyssinian half streetcat. I decided anyway not to get abyssinian because of their big love for outdoor because I know that cat wouldn't stay in one place, the same goes with bengals, so I'm deciding to go with cornish rex or russian blue in the future
