my cat was diagnosed with stomatits. i read online that sometimes a change in diet can help. im interested in trying to make my own cat food. not the raw kind tho. anyone have any good sites for recipes? and has anyone else dealt with feline stomatits? any advice, experience, etc greatly appreciated!

Is there any way to economically make healthy home-made cat food? I want to feed my cats what is best for them, but I have a new baby, and money is tight. The recipes I have found for home made cat food are sometimes more expensive than what I eat for dinner myself.
Should I give up the idea until I have a bigger income? I just feel bad feeding them typical cat chow where the first ingredient is "corn", and I would spring for the more expensive cat food but I wanted to first find out if there is a good way of making their food myself without breaking the bank. Thanks.

How do I get him to poop normal? This is recent behavior. He throws up aliitle too, water like, or with alittle reguritated cat food. I was feeding him and his brother and sister good life indoor formula with an Iams cat food. But I switched it to a Iams digestion recipe, pink bag mixed with the good life. I think I'm going to ween them off of good life and just stick with the Iams. He lost 2 pounds too. He's a long, skinny, natural jumper, who can jump 4 feet with no problem. He's at 7 pounds now.
NO, THey were eating a combo of regular iams and goodlife recipe. But puddycat started having nasty poop, so I switched the regular iams to digestive health. BUt I think I'm going to have to ween them off of goodlife and just give them Iams digestive health.
Plus he was a healthy 9 pound cat, which is a natural weight for him. He is meant to be long and skinny. He's a jumper. Fat cats can't jump like him. He can jump from my recliner at an angle to the bookshelf which is 4 feet up with no problems. Even jumping off the balcony doesn't phase him, which he's done a couple times to chase a bunny. THen he gets grounded with no balcony priveleges
I don't think puddy cat has worms. I check his poop daily, no signs of them. I have been reading some interesting stuff on dry cat food. Going to start supplementing with a better canned cat food. Hi :) I'm getting a kitten on next sunday! I've read six books and researched as much as i could, but the books and the internet still don't answer some of my (many) questions. So I hope one of you cat experts out there have the time to read my questions.
1) How many grams of dry food should you feed your kitten (12 weeks old) daily and if someone has the time if they could make a table telling the different grams of food for each age group: eg.
12 weeks: ??? grams
14 weeks: ??? grams
20 weeks: ??? grams
2) Any recipes of how to prepare a kitty treat?
3) How do you calm down a kitty when driving it home?
4) What are the first things I should do when I open the door to my house with the kitty?
5) How to make the kitty love you :)

for a 12 year old outdoor cat? He usually hunts most of his food, but he's been getting pretty skinny so I want to make sure he has something really good to eat whenever he comes in. He seems to like what he's eating now, but the guy at the pet store said it's full of fillers and not that good for him, so I'm thinking that maybe if I transition him to a new diet he'll gain some weight back. Can you recommend a good brand or recipe? Thank you!

hi have 2 kittens that are just getting there teeth there mom cant feed them any more cause there hurting her so when ever i try to feed them our cat food they don't like it and when i feed them kitten food from a can they don't eat it and every time i try to feed them they don't like it i cant go feed them the caned kitten milk cause i want them to move to solid foods they will drink water but does any one know what solid food recipe i can make for them i don't want to go out and buy it i can make home made i just really need to feed?????

i have a Persian cat who has recently mated and its gonna be a queen soon. i want to know some good recipe for homemade food. preferably with chicken Beef or Fish.... and also i would want her to have all nutrition she needs for her developing kittens....
p.s My cat is pure breed and her mating was done after consultation with my Actual cat Breeder and my VET... and i already have people lined up for her kittens so all of them will have a good home....

I've heard of a cookie called "Cat food cookies" its a great recipe that my friend has, i cant get this recipe from her and when i look online, i only get a bunch of links on how to make real cat food.

really interested to kno more about how to feed my cat something more healthy & wondering what kind of DIY meals could be done.
ok so the thing is I live in Australia & it's hard to find all those really good holistic cat food brands that ppl talk about on these forums. but what i've seen at the supermarket is packaged but raw DOG food (it's wrapped up like a giant sausage & marketed as a healthy high-protein raw alternative to the canned products) & i've been wondering if i could buy that but add some supplements so it's balanced for the cat? but I don't kno where to get supplements or what other fresh foods would have them. Eg, Vitamin E - where was the source of this for cats in the wild?

I'm going summer flounder fishing and want to use live bait. Got the standard screen trap and I know the basic bait to put in like bread, dog/cat food, but are there anything better bait fish likes? How about can o tuna, liver, or even bottled cooking squid juice over bread? Anyone have a special recipe?

He eats just fine but he doesn't get any bigger. Is there any food recipes I can make at home to help my kitten gain weight? or any good commercial cat food would also be fine. My kitten is very picky about food he doesn't eat anything blended with rice.

I have 3 cats. 2 females and a male, all fixed, all inside cats.
One of the females, Tiger, is about 5 years old. She's a rather lazy cat. She doesn't really run and play and bounce like the other 2 cats do, but she's always been that way.
Anyways, she has a very sensitive stomach. Almost any food we give her, she throws up. We've gone to a vet about this, and he told us that it is just sensitivity and not something more serious. The IAMS brand chicken cat food is the only thing she didn't throw up, but we obviously haven't tried every kind of food.
I'm wondering. Does anybody in the Cat Section know of any good cat food brands that would have a recipe for sensitive stomachs? I'm not familiar with good or bad cat food brands, but if IAMS cat food is as bad as its dog food, there's GOT to be something better.

So there is this cat that kind of adopted my sister and I, she comes around every night and lingers around our house. We are assuming she came from a house that burned down near us recently, they had 13 cats so we have a lot of strays running around now.
But this one comes EVERY night and when I go on walks she follows me, and these are 3 mile walks, so she obviously is intrigued by me or something.
She doesn't have a collar either, so we've been feeding her just regular packaged tuna.
I know she isn't getting the nutrients she needs just from that, so is there anything I could give her that could boost the nutrients?
Or could you recommend a cheap brand of canned cat food since she's not allowed in our house and our parents don't know about her and I'm only 16 and make minimum wage?

My friend has 5 stray cats in her yard and 4 of them are kittens. She ran out of sample cat food so does anyone know anything else she could feed them? would it be ok for them to eat dog food?
