Maybe hes just talking to you?
My cats do all the time.
Or he could be lonely, or stressed, or looking for a girl kitty :P

Perhaps you weren't the only people to get a letter. The true culprit's owner probably got a letter too and knew that it was their cat.

The culprit was probably a lady cat and your cat probably enjoyed the communication with her (animals communicate through smells etc don't they - I wouldn't be surprised if your cat had been spraying in response nearby or something too) and now that it isn't going there anymore, your cat doesn't understand where his chum has gone and he may be a little distressed which is causing his strange behaviour.

Also if you're pregnant he may be a little unsettled about that (cats are sensitive to stuff like that aren't they).

Once the baby comes and he starts to forget about his kitty chum he'll probably settle down a bit. He'll soon find something else to occupy himself with too no doubt.
