Question: cat won't eat! help!!?

( Back )

Answer #1:

she is probably scared to eat if shes been throwing up try feeding her milk it is good for her and will get her used to eating and not puking if it gets worst take her back to the vet.

Answer #2:

Your cat's throat is probably sore from the vomiting, or blistered from the corn plant....either way, she doesn't want to eat the "scratchy" kibble. Since she'll eat the baby food, get her some regular canned CAT or KITTEN food, and let her eat that while her mouth / throat heal.

There are some good cat foods that are "ground" instead of being "pieces", so she'd probably eat those. Get one can of each......turkey, chicken, tuna, salmon, beef, whitefish, etc.....and see which she prefers. Give her 1/4 can at first to see if she'll eat it. If she does, give her a little more. Whatever she doesn't eat in 20 minutes, pick up and refrigerate. Also, if you warm the meat a LITTLE ( 9 sec / microwave ), it'll feel better "going down". Once it's refrigerated, you'll need to increase the heating time to 13 sec......

BTW: If you want to give her milk, be sure it's GOAT milk....because cow milk gives some cats diarrhea, and your cat doesn't need any more problems with her digestion!!

Also, chicken noodle soup is good for cats with mouth / stomach ailments.....you can try that ( warmed up ), too....

Hope this helps, and she feels better soon..........You DID get rid of the corn plant, I hope!!
Good luck.........

The pet food recall scared us into making our own cat food at home. We did alot of research into cat nutrition requirements and went through alot of trial and error trying out new recipes for the cats - seeing what they liked and what they didn't. We ended up with quite a few super yummy recipes. Our friends begged us to share the recipes with them and we realized there were probably lots of other cat owners out there that would love to try these cat food recipes out on their cat too! So, 123 CatFood.com came into being. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.
